Heading Slats

The typefaces we use for your heading
slat have been chosen for their
readability, nevertheless, our customers
can still choose from a wide
selection of standard typefaces and
unlimited colours.
Special designs and effects can also
be used on double heading slats,
such as graduated, patterned (marble)
or rainbow spectrum.
Item Slats

Item slats are used to display particular
items on the menu as well as
prices. We recommend that the
colour of the item slat complements
the colour of the frame. For example:
green item slats look great with
a green frame and black slats with a
gold frame ... etc.
The colour of the text should contrast
well with the slat colour for
maximum impact; yellow text with
black slats and white text with all
colours except yellow.
The typeface we recommend for
readability and fast food style is
Benguiat Gothic.
Slat Holders
Our slat system uses special panel
runners which give a neat display
and make changing slats or prices
easy. Plus all menus are supplied with a price
sticker pack to enable price
updates.
Frames

Frames are available in a wide
range of colours which can be
used to complement your interior
decor or match your slats. Some
of our customers have even used
frame colours to add impact to
their food images. For example, a
pink frame goes well in an Ice
Cream Parlour and green frames
are used regularly in Salad Bars.
Red frames are widely used in
Kebab and Burger shops whereas
black and gold find favour in Pizza
and Fried Chicken emporiums.
Yellow frames are most successful
with Sandwich and Snack Bars.
We will be pleased to offer advice
on frame colour selection.
Installation Instructions
Simplicity and ease of use is the key
to our modular menu system. Each
box comprises four parts:
1 The Panel - holds your text slats
and transparency.
2 The Frame - houses the picture
and slat panel and can easily be
detached from the main box
unit.
3 The Light Box - constructed of
aluminum, contains the electric
fittings.
4 Slats and Transparencies - fitted
behind a non-reflective clear
panel, enables easy cleaning
from the outside.
Easy Access to Transparency, Slats and Prices
To reach the panel, simply pull the
frame off the box unit. Undo a few
clips and detach the panel. The transparency
and slats can then be easily
changed and re-installed all within a
few minutes.
Connecting Boxes
Simply attach units to each other (on
any side) by using fixing bolts supplied.
Electrical connection is by way
of plug-in leads between boxes.
Electronics
Power consumption ranges from 30 to
100 Watt, depending on the size of
the unit. One feed only is required
with the average system. All fittings
comply with the relevant safety standards
and use standard lamps.
Menu System Wall Fixing
1 Take the total size of your menu system and the size of the space available,
then mark the starting point and the level of the menu.
2 Fix the first box to the wall through the box back sheet using suitable fixing
screws
3 Join the next box by using the wing bolt and nut connectors supplied
(after removing the 2 black plugs).
4 Fix the next box (as step 2) to the wall.
5 Keep fixing all boxes (bolting them together) until the menu system is
complete.
Suspended Menu System Units
1 Join the boxes together (using wing
bolts) to form one strong body.
2 Connect the boxes together using
the supplied cable connectors.
3 Suspend the menu system by chain
and hooks.
4 Connect the electrical power supply
to the mains.
5 Clip the frames by pushing into
spring grooves.
Floor Stand Fitting
Any size of menu case can be attached
to a floor stand (free-standing or floor fixed)
by using nuts and bolts supplied.
Both types of stand are constructed
of steel and finished in black
paint.
